Design Goal and Challenges:

The design goal of the game is originally a competition game where players collect their owns kind of coins, and avoid the other coins. However this goal has been changing during the six week in order to create more interesting and dynamic game experience. By creating special movement control, adding player-player interaction, setting a common goal (i.e. a single type of coins), trying out health bar and giving up, adding power-ups and creating safe zones (homes) where players store their coins, the game has become a “wider” and more interactive game.

The most challenging design problem is to figure out how to make a two-player game most playable and interesting, how make it both dynamic and integrated. A small change can easily change a two-player game completely. It took time to think about what was “off” in the player-player interaction, try out different strategies and listen to various suggestions to figure out what’s the best and what I want. It also took time to adjusting small variables/sprites/physics to make the game feel right, and at the same time make it understandable/make sense to the players.
